Dog Proofing Your Car

August 11th, 2017 by

If your dog enjoys riding in the car you are familiar with the messes they can leave behind. They shed, track in mud and water, and can even get motion sickness while riding. Here are three easy steps to protect your car for doggy messes:

  • The first thing you should do is protect your seats with a leather or upholstery protector. Just spray the protector directly on the seats. You then need to cover the seats with seat covers specifically made for dogs, or you can just use old blankets. When you’re done riding just shake the blanket out and wash.
  • The car windows also see a fair share of mess. Dogs love to lick windows and rub their noses across them while looking out. To prevent smudging you can smooth a piece of plastic wrap over the window. Then when you get back home all you have to do is remove it.
  • If all else fails you should keep a lint brush in the car at all times. That way you can easily pick up any dog hair or lint.
